Last March, we lost our dachshund; he was 17 and a huge part of our lives. Within a few weeks, we decided we needed another dachshund in our family and started doing our research. We knew we wanted some kind of cream colored dachshund. After hours of research and many family discussions, I reached out to Leslie from Creme of the Crop Dachshunds. Leslie spent over an hour on the phone with me!! We talked about all sorts of things, mostly dachshunds but many other things. I felt like I had a new friend!! Leslie has a wealth of information on breeding dachshunds and taught me so much on that first conversation. We decided that we wanted to get on the waiting list for one of her dachshunds. From that day forward, our family started preparing for a puppy. We printed Leslie’s puppy notebook and started studying and learning. As a family, we had so much fun highlighting things and buying things from the Amazon list which is extremely helpful. I talked to Leslie so many times!! She was always willing to talk or text about any concerns we had. Her puppies are truly her babies!! The care she gives them is over the top! The puppy cams she has on them 24/7 is so fun for her clients to watch. We watched daily!! In June, Leslie called to tell us that she had a shaded cream boy for us. We were ecstatic!! From that day forward, she helped us make sure we had everything we needed to be prepared to bring our baby home including finding the right flights. On August 6th, we picked up Milo, our gorgeous puppy. Leslie continued to help us through the transition to home. Milo is an amazing puppy!! He is so smart, playful and well adjusted, has a beautiful coat and coloring, and is gentle and loves snuggling. I credit this to the love and care that Leslie puts into breeding her dogs and the care they receive as newborn puppies. I highly recommend Creme of the Crop Dachshunds! We have a new member of our family that we are so in love with!! Thank you Leslie!!

We decided we wanted a mini dachshund in September of 2023. After extensive research, we ended up calling Leslie and having our initial interview with her. Leslie’s puppy notebook has plenty of checklists for you to start setting up for your new puppy! It may seem overwhelming, but I promise, it’s so worth it (even for us, we’ve had several puppies come home before). We felt so prepared when we finally brought him home. Ollie flew home to Denver a few days before Christmas. We had a lovely time at the Urso home meeting Ollie for the first time. You can tell they care about and love these animals. She even prepares you for travel home, it was a seamless transition. His nursery was all set up when we got home and slept through the night right away. Leslie is available 24/7 when the puppy comes home, we text her so much and she is so helpful and responsive.

Now about our puppy. This dog. I can’t say enough. He is such an adorable little guy. He makes people oooh and aah over him all the time. People have visited us and have cried tears of utter joy. He is so beautiful. His temperament is unmatched. The Urso’s do an amazing job with breeding, they care about these bloodlines, and it shows! Once he had all his shots, he started going to work with me a couple of days a week, he is so well-behaved and wants to just love on everyone. This is our first Dachshund (we have had labs), they live up to their loving personality. If the Urso’s are still doing this when we are ready for another, we will be returning without hesitation. For more than three years, I have been delighted with the dachshund breed; they are very intelligent, determined animals with character but also very sweet, loyal, and loving. I have a dachshund named Vienna, whom I love with all my heart, and it was because of her I started searching the internet and social media for another dachshund to keep her company. That's how I found Creme of the Crop Dachshunds. I fell in love immediately because all their photos were charming.

From the first call with Leslie, I felt the difference. This is not just another dog breeder; they really care about their animals and take the adoption process very seriously. I had to go in person to pick up my puppy Otto; I had to share photos that showed the conditions in which he was going to live; I had to sign a contract where I promised to give my puppy quality living conditions and all those details they were very important to me.

Otto is a beautiful, unique dog; wherever we go, everybody highlights his beauty, but he is also an extremely healthy dog, and I owe that to the tireless care of Leslie and the kennel. I was able to see Otto from the moment he was born on a 24/7 connected camera. That experience was invaluable; I literally followed all his steps closely, and my connection with Otto grew thanks to this.

Another factor of great importance to me is the puppies' mother and the care that the breeder takes of her. Otto's mother is Raya, I was able to confirm that she lives in excellent conditions, and the breeder takes close care of her health and needs; that was key for me because one of my concerns was contributing to a puppy mill industry heartless and abusive. It never was; Leslie loves her animals, you can feel it, and it gave me peace.

In general, it was a magnificent experience; I would repeat it a thousand times; I sincerely and genuinely recommend this kennel; they are the best, not only for their animals' beauty but their love and dedication.

I stumbled across them while doing an internet search but could tell by the depth and detail of their website that they were serious breeders and seriously in love with the dachshund breed! Now that I have gone through and completed the process of adopting from them, I can say with confidence that they are amazing people as well as top of the line breeders!

I have now had my beautiful puppy home for 2-1/2 months now and she is the light of our lives! She is beautiful, she is smart as a whip, she is playful, happy and healthy. Their knowledge of breeding these dogs really stands out. It's obvious they know how to choose the right dachshund parents, how to care for and how to properly socialize the puppies from the moment of birth. And they are raised in a beautiful, loving home (I've been there and can attest) The end result is that you get a happy, well adjusted puppy that already is well on the right track to becoming the pet that brings nothing but joy to your family.

In addition, and just as important, the Urso's go to great lengths to assure that you, as the new parent, have all of the knowledge and resources you need to continue the process of properly raising your puppy. They also are super hands on, so you are never alone in your journey. You can call, text, email anytime of the day and their response is usually immediate! I’m living in Key West, moving down right after I lost my 17 yr old Dachshund Scotty that I rescued from a shelter. I was so sad moving and not having his with me anymore. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for Leslie and Creme of the Crop Dachshunds for blessing me with my two sweet babies. Sweet Skye and Pryse are absolute angels, and the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Choosing Creme of the Crop Dachshunds was the best decision; I couldn’t imagine it any other way. I saw my first cream dachshund about 2 years ago. Someone was walking one in our local park and I fell in love. I had to have one as it had been 2 years since we lost our last furbaby. It was time for our house to be a home again. So my search started for the perfect breeder of cream dachshunds. I looked for breeders within a few hundred miles our home but no one specialized in creams-they bred all varieties. Some would not even allow me to pick up a pup at their home. So many red flags in my search. Then I found Leslie Urso and Crème of the Crop Dachshunds. 800 miles away!!

I learned so much about the breed and Leslie as a breeder on her website. So much wonderful information. She is so transparent with the puppy cams. You don’t have to worry about anything from birth until you pick them up because you can see it all! This to me meant she hides nothing about her breeding or raising of your future pup – I would be able to see my babies anytime I wanted and watch them grow and develop.

So I called Leslie and knew I had found the breeder of my future puppy. She interviewed me to see if I was a fit-it is all about the puppies to Leslie and what is best for them-I loved that! I sent my deposit in and waited. During this time my husband and I decided maybe we wanted two! I called Leslie and she said she thought that was doable so two it was! Once the pups were born Leslie stayed in contact to let us know how everyone was doing-and I watched my little babies grow and develop on the puppy cam.

I cannot recommend Leslie and Crème of the Crop enough. She cares so much for her dogs and puppies. That is obvious in everything she does. As Leslie says you become a member of the Crème of the Crop family and she is always there to help if needed.

One of the best things we enjoyed was being able to watch Milo grow up before our very eyes through your Facebook page and live cam. Being able to see him at just a few hours old was amazing! Then being able to see him grow and play with his siblings on live cam was so much fun. We felt a bond with him even before we met him.

You can tell right away from the puppy’s personality that he was loved and pampered. The trust he has with humans for belly rubs and falling asleep in their arms and laps prove that. Milo has such a playful side too. He is not afraid of anything or anyone. He will greet everyone in the family and play with the senior dog with no qualms. He is also very independent. He will fall asleep on his own when he is tired. He has found a favorite bed in his nursery and he will snuggle in that bed with the snuggle puppy and nap when he’s tired or sleep through the night. He is just such a happy go lucky puppy! Our vet said he is very healthy and growing like a weed!

I grew up with Miniature Long Haired Dachshunds and love their personalities and funny nature so as an adult I decided it was time to get a Dachshund puppy and started doing research on breeders. I knew I wanted an English Creme and came across Creme of the Crop Dachshunds on social media and started following them. About a year into my research I noticed Creme of the Crop had posted a litter that had a girl available to adopt so I reached out to Leslie Urso who is the owner. We flew from Minnesota to Austin TX and drove to Franklin on 4/17/22 to pick up our beautiful Rosie when she was 8 weeks old. We were so impressed by Leslie's home and how clean and well kept it is, which is what you want to see in a breeder's home. The puppy nursery is fabulous. We got to watch Rosie and her siblings playing every day on the puppy cam. We are so happy that we were able to meet someone who’s so knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process. Finding the right fur baby for your family should not be a hasty decision. Puppies while cute can cause anyone to pull out their hair at times. In September of 2019 we rescued our first Dachshund, so I was new to the breed but instantly fell in love with them. We quickly decided we wanted to give Dixie Lou a little sister.

December of 2019 I started looking for an English Cream Mini Dachshund to join our family. I interviewed several breeders across the US until I came across Leslie Urso of Creme of the Crop Dachshunds. After researching her website and our interview with her I found her to be the most knowledgeable and thorough breeder. All of her babies, mommies and daddies were by far superior in quality, temperament and personality. She truly cares about not only her babies, but where her future babies are placed. She was interviewing me as much as I was interviewing her. I really liked that about her, that it was just as important to her to place her babies in loving caring homes.

After some time to discuss with my husband we put a deposit down and started the waiting game for our sweet baby girl Daisy Mae. The year flew by and before we knew it she was here. We were so thrilled when all the babies in her litter were born and thriving. Daisy and her brother and sister have all turned out to be incredible puppies. This is when the real fun started. I couldn’t wait to Check the webcam every morning to see how mommy and babies were doing. It was such a delight to watch them grow into their uniquely wonderful personalities. Daisy has been a little spitfire from day one. She’s the wild one of the bunch, and nothing has changed, lol. I also couldn’t wait to check Facebook for all the wonderful updates on the babies with tons of pictures to see their progress.

In November we drove out from California to bring back out precious Daisy. Little did she know she was in for a 2 day trip back home. She was a complete pro, and slept most of the way home. She and her big sister have the best time running around the house playing with all their toys and snuggling up to one another and sleeping after a hard time playing chase. They are completely inseparable after just one day. She’s so smart and potty training has been a breeze.

I’ve never seen a breeder put so much time and energy into raising perfect babies with 100’s of hours feeding, cleaning, loving on them, rocking, playing, socializing, nurturing these little loves. I just feel so blessed to have found them. We just can’t say enough great things about Leslie, Sam and Creme of the Crop Dachshunds. They have given us the greatest gift in Miss Daisy Mae. We are forever grateful for their kindness and generosity.

I have had dachshunds all my life, so fell in love with the breed at a young age. After losing our beloved Scarlett in September 2021, it wasn't long before my family and I concluded that our life just wasn't the same without her and we needed another dog to love. Miraculously, Leslie had a male shaded cream puppy available, and after a lengthy conversation and potential-owner interview, we passed her screening and committed to make "Finn" ours. Each week, we eagerly anticipated the pictures she would send chronicling his development and of course they only helped to build the anticipation for our official "gotcha day." Leslie relayed fun tidbits about his little personality and sent links to specific products she recommended we have on hand ~ toys, food, bedding, shampoo, nail clippers, etc. ~ to welcome him into our home in a safe, comforting, healthy and stimulating manner. We loved spying on the puppies 24/7 on the nursery cams, and she also shared an abundance of detailed information for the ride home and transition period. This assistance put us so at ease because we knew that if we followed her direction gleaned from years of experience, all would go well. Leslie promptly answered all of our questions before, during, and after pickup, and I know will continue to be there in the future whenever we might need her. Finneas (a shaded cream) officially joined our family on November 3rd, and we decided to welcome another puppy, Scout (a platinum blonde ee cream), on December 12th. Both puppies had been loved and cared for so well and transitioned seamlessly. And they already knew their names because Leslie had encouraged us to make that decision early so she could call them by name during every interaction. Both puppies have the sweetest temperaments; are beautiful bundles of energy; love people and each other; are so smart; know how to potty on their pads; and have passed their vet visits with flying colors.

Finn and Scout are the BEST gifts we possibly could have received this Christmas season, and we know they'll bring us joy for many years to come! My husband and I decided a year ago that we wanted an english cream miniature daschund. I did some research and discovered Creme of the Crop. Be thankful if you have to wait a while to get a puppy. Leslie’s focus is on quality, not producing as many puppies as she can sell. It takes time.
4. When it was time for us to go pick up Oliver, Leslie sent out a very detailed list of things we needed to make sure we had on hand at home as well as things we needed to take with us on the trip to pick him up. Leslie goes the extra mile to make sure you have what you need to safely get the puppy home.

Our journey together started two years ago when I called her wanting to find out some information on these incredibly unique and special doxies. Because of all this preparation and involvement, by the time our pup was born we truly felt like family….and that a dear friend was entrusting us with one of her babies! We loved that Leslie made sure it was us who picked her up in Texas and did everything possible to ensure a stress-free transition for the baby. Leslie Grier Urso is the most amazing breeder of ee English Cream Miniature Dachshunds you will ever find. These are the most well adjusted, sweet tempered little dogs I have ever encountered anywhere . From the beginning, I knew what to expect with the dog, the facility, and with the breeder Leslie. The dogs come first!  Their care and health are the most important aspects of the experience, and it shows in the animal. I picked up Magnolia Grace on Friday; she never whimpered, cried or barked on the 2 hour ride home. Once home, she ate, walked outside with me and started her new life as easily as it could be. Over the past several months, it seems we have been surrounded with an unusual amount of bad news during very trying times. On Thursday, August 26th our household experienced a NEW SPARK OF JOY. We are the new proud parents of River, a Creme of the Crop Dachshund, and we could not be more thrilled with the entire experience. As current Golden Retriever owners, we were unsure of what to expect with a new doxie puppy, and Leslie helped us through the entire process-from what to expect from a dachshund vs. a golden retriever all the way to helping with the logistics of getting our new baby home to Philadelphia safely on the airplane! Even having him home for 2+ weeks, I still ask her questions daily, and she happily and quickly responds. She loves her babies and what she does; it is evident. Aside from breeding the most gorgeous puppies I have ever seen, she is so wonderful to deal with from a business standpoint. She was responsive to all of my early requests about our place on the waiting list; she was very open and honest about how long it would be, and organized with pre-puppy contracts and paperwork. I was so pleased we were selected as a future Creme of the Crop family. We will not disappoint her:) She said early on that we will become family through the process, and I totally feel this way still. She gets hundreds of pictures of River from me daily!

The big day came, and we arrived at Leslie and Sam's beautiful home in Texas to the MOST gorgeous puppy I could have ever imagined. He was prettier in person-my daughter and I were speechless. We were led to her puppy room to have River acclimate to us for a bit before we took him away. It is obvious the health of her puppies and the cleanliness of her facility (and her entire house for that matter were spotless) are a huge priority for her. The puppies were all very well socialized, with tons of age appropriate toys at their disposal. After a farewell photo shoot in front of her beautiful landscaping, Leslie said her final goodbye to River (and I KNOW it was hard), and we headed home. In his first weeks home, he has proven to be a very sweet, well-mannered little boy who loves to play with his big siblings, go for walks (although he's not a fan of his leash yet), and steal the show wherever we go!! If you don't like attention from EVERYONE you pass on the street, an English Cream Miniature Dachshuund is not the way to go:)
 
I would absolutely recommend doing business with Leslie if you are in the market for an English Cream Mini Dachshund; we will certainly be adding to our pack in the future.

There have been several dogs (all small breeds) in our family over the years, but we knew we wanted a mini dachshund. When we found Creme of the Crop Dachshunds, we fell in love with the long hair cream coat puppies. One cold and snowy late January morning in Chicago, my daughter and I were talking about the beautiful cream dachshunds that we see in pictures, but we never see any in person or on the sidewalks of Chicago which is a major dog city! We had recently lost our beloved mahogany mini of 14 years named Louis, but still had his sister the beautiful black and tan Lily. As I was curious to this conversation, I googled white or cream miniature dachshunds on the Internet and discovered Creme of the Crop Mimiature Dachshunds located in Franklin, Texas. Excitedly, we scanned through the beautiful litters and pictures and decided to call… not really thinking that this was real. We were greeted by an extremely upbeat and kind woman who is the owner. Leslie proceeded to tell us how it all worked and how you possibly get a puppy. We talked for a long time sensing that she wanted to know more about us and if our names could possibly go on her list. We immediately stated that we would like two mini cream dachshunds, preferably from the same liter, and that we were willing to wait. She told us the summer of 2022 would be our best option, and my name went on her list. In June 2021, we received an email stating that she had a puppy for us if we would like her. We immediately said yes and picked up our beautiful Sunny on July 11. She has been nothing but a complete joy, a beautiful dog and absolutely perfect. Then... one-week later Leslie had another dog from the same litter for us!! We also immediately said yes. Cher arrived, and immediately bonded with the family and was overjoyed to join her sister Sunny! We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Sam and Leslie Urso. This husband and wife team are two of the kindest people we have ever met, and their puppies are too! The puppies are absolutely perfect, and we couldn't have wished for anything more. Our journey to finding a puppy came months before we chose Crème of the Crop Dachshunds. I came across a picture of an English Cream Dachshund on Instagram and told Jordan that if we ever got a puppy, that’s what I HAD to have. Sure enough, I get a call one day telling me that she put a deposit down! From that point on, Leslie and Crème of the Crop Dachshunds were an incredible experience.  We were fairly early and got second pick of the liter.  We knew we wanted a boy, the smallest and sweetest of the liter.  On the day we picked up Fig to bring him home, we were in awe of how perfect he was from head to tail; he is exactly what we wanted.
