Finding the Perfect Match: Our Adult Dog Re-Homing Process
There is something incredibly special about welcoming an adult dog into your life. These dogs already have their own personalities, their own stories, and so much love ready to give. Our goal is to thoughtfully match each one with the right family - where they can truly belong.
For families interested in one of our adult dachshunds, we believe the connection should be just as meaningful as the decision itself. Because of this, in-person visits are offered by invitation only and reserved for families who have completed our interview process, participated in conversations with us, and have been thoughtfully approved to move forward. At this stage, your visit is not simply an introduction - it is a final step in ensuring a truly harmonious match. During your time here, you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the dog in a relaxed, natural setting. Just as you are getting to know them, we are also gently observing something equally important: how the dog responds to you. Our adult dogs have been raised in a loving, connected environment, and their comfort matters deeply to us. We look for a natural ease - curiosity, engagement, and a willingness to connect. This mutual connection helps guide us in confirming that the placement feels right not only for you, but for them as well. This thoughtful approach allows us to ensure that every transition is made with care, intention, and the best interest of each dog at heart. We are honored to walk alongside you in this process and take great care in making each match a lasting one.
Because these relationships matter so deeply, we do not offer shipping or third-party placements. Every transition is handled personally, with care and intention.
Health & Preparation
Each of our adult dogs leaves our home:
- Spayed or neutered
- Fully vetted and up to date on vaccinations, dental cleanings, and all care.
They are prepared not just physically, but emotionally, for a smooth and loving transition into their new home.
A Lifetime Commitment
Dachshunds are a long-lived, devoted breed, often sharing 18 - 20 wonderful years with their families. Bringing one home is a meaningful, long-term commitment - one filled with companionship, loyalty, and everyday joy.
We encourage families to approach this decision with the same level of care and thoughtfulness as they would any important addition to their family.
Our Promise to Every Dog
Every dog we place will always have a home with us. If life circumstances ever change, we ask that the dog be returned to us rather than re-homed elsewhere. This ensures their safety and well-being for life.
Our commitment doesn't end at adoption - it lasts forever.
Creating the Right Environment
To give our dogs the very best chance to thrive, we carefully consider placement environments. At this time, we:
- Do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of four
- Do not place dogs in homes with known aggressive breeds
- Are unable to ship dogs in locations requiring complex quarantine processes (such as outside of the United States or Hawaii)
These guidelines are in place purely to protect the comfort, safety, and happiness of our dogs.
Support for Owners
If interested in one of our dogs, we encourage you to begin building your support team early - especially a trusted veterinarian. Think of this relationship the same way you would when choosing a pediatrician: someone you trust to help guide you through a lifetime of care.

A Final Thought
Dogs are never just pets - they are companions, confidants, and a daily source of unconditional love. It is our honor to raise them, and our responsibility to ensure they are placed in homes where that love is cherished for a lifetime.
